Student years – drawing up plans for the future: Here, amid the hustle and bustle of student life, we exchanged ideas, passed exams and drafted our first blueprints for adult life.
Seven years of silence: After gaining our degrees, our paths led in different directions and we headed out into the world to gather our own experiences. For seven years there were no shared designs or cosy chats to outline ideas and plans.
An unexpected reunion: Rita was looking for a suitable workspace when she came across Sophtloft, where Doris had set up a creative, inspiring collective with Christoph Feldbacher and Annemarie Weilhartner. Reunited, the two old friends resolved to work together again.
2011 and beyond, things come full circle: Fittingly, our first post-reunion project was the refurbishment of a student hall of residence in Leoben. For us, this project not only represents a throwback to our beginnings, but is also a visible pledge for the future.
Our common future: After what is now a whole series of joint projects we pursue an ambitious threefold goal: promoting a circular economy in the construction industry; adapting and repurposing existing building stock; and redesigning buildings to create high-quality living spaces. In every one of our projects we take on the challenges of conversion and refurbishment to give old buildings a new lease of life.
Our work is built on solid foundations. It draws upon our deep fund of expertise and is rooted in our vision of sustainable, responsible built development.
