The redevelopment of historic industrial buildings, like this 1960s textile factory in Vienna’s Fünfhaus district that has been transformed into a creative space, is a good example of efficient urban land use. Existing structures can be renovated, repurposed and optimised to create new, flexible spaces suitable for modern lifestyles and modes of working.
The building’s conversion into nine spacious loft-style units combines living and workspace in a dynamic environment. Balconies and green roofs add a private, outdoor dimension to the urban setting and create an oasis in the middle of the city for enhanced quality of life.
