LO.K Kleinmodellbahn
The converted brick-built LO.K. factory building in the Viennese district of Atzgersdorf demonstrates how contemporary redevelopment of existing buildings conserves resources and preserves cultural heritage. A disused model railway factory has been transformed into a loft complex: a project full of individuality with a mix of housing and workspace.
A comprehensive programme of renovation, including conversion of the loft spaces, installation of thermal insulation and attractive planting of the outdoor areas, has given the historic industrial architecture of the LO.K a resplendent new look. The restored premises now provide space for 15 exclusive loft apartments, most of the state-of-the art living spaces boasting courtyard gardens or attractive balconies and terraces.
The industrial architecture of the LO.K. pairs the heritage of the past with the vibrancy of the present, providing an ideal setting for contemporary urban living.
