Studentenheim Leoben
The revitalisation of this historic hall of residence in Leoben perfectly showcases the advantages of repurposing existing buildings. Nearly 100 years old, the building was reinvented in modern form thanks to a radical refurbishment that exposed the core of the structure down to the central load-bearing walls. This allowed the interior to be redesigned in a way that retained the historic character while providing comfortable contemporary living space.
Former communal facilities were transformed into individual accommodation units with private kitchens and bathrooms, meeting the requirements of today’s students while focussing on responsible use of resources. The revitalisation measures likewise help to preserve the local cultural heritage.
